Post 6 - My experience learning English at the university.

Imagen
From what has been an intense semester, my experience with English at the university has been quite promising. In the sense that I can say that I have learned English in a different way than I was used to when I was in school. The fact that there are didactic classes, not necessarily face-to-face, makes learning more interesting and much more enjoyable. It makes you see the great interest that comes to exist on the part of one as a student, to the English that is offered. I think that face-to-face classes enhance learning much more than online classes. The truth is that I usually don´t pay much attention to the classes when they are online, because I don´t feel totally interested, since my concentration is usually lost very quickly. So, when the classes are mostly in-person they make my willingness to learn totally focused on the class. I also firmly believe that learning something, no matter what it is, should be taught properly in a classroom, where the teacher-student rela...

Post 5 - Changes to my study programme

I think that one of the things that most of us students think about the most are certain changes that our curriculum or career itself could have, regarding many topics that do not favor us or that we do not like at all.  I´m a second year student of anthropology at the faculty of social sciences at the University of Chile. And I entered this university specifically, because it manages to cover the mentions of my interest that the career includes. Such as physical anthropology and archaeology, which has as a priority the human being and his ways of developing in the world, as a whole.   The career lasts 5 years, in which the first two are general training, and the mentions (social anthropology, physical, and archaeology) are taught at the same time or are supposed to be so, with classes such as: human evolution, hunter-gatherers, formation of society, fundamental problems of anthropology, workshops and so on. Then from the third year, one chooses the mention of his interes...

Post 4 - A travel to the past

Imagen
Many times my mind lingers on the simple idea of being present in the past or in the future. And if it were a continuous question where I would place myself, I would choose the past a thousand times. I think there are many things that I would have liked to experience, but at the same time to relive and remember over and over again.  The simple fact of seeing people that are no longer with me, experiencing certain situations that kept me with a smile on my face, going to that place that I loved so much or even that trip that lasted so little and that I would gladly repeat.  In spite of all the moments I would love to experience, one that I am very interested in visiting would be the 80s and 90s. Mostly because of the great musical vibe and the fashion that rocked the streets back then. To be able to live the hit of the moment, to dance at the biggest parties, to have crazy fun as they used to do in those times. Seeing and enjoying the presence of my family in their youth, ...

Post 3 - A job I would like to have in the future

Imagen
Well... as everyone knows I am a student of anthropology, and one of my biggest dreams is becoming a forensic anthropologist and work with that specialty.  Forensic anthropology is the study of medico-legal issues related to a deceased person, through the examination and study of skeletal remains to, among other things, attempt to determine the person's identity, manner and cause of death. It makes me feel like I born for this job, I´ve always be a really huge fan of the bones,  corpses,  crime scenes, blood of dead people (and it´s kinda really rare), and so many huge things that the forensic anthropologist could be able to handle with. For me it would be fantastic to be able to specialize outside my native country and at the same time find work abroad. But without leaving aside the idea of being able to venture into this journey of forensic anthropology in Chile.  However, ever since I was a little girl, I have had the crazy idea of workin...

Post 2 - My best Holiday

Holiday in Pichilemu: The most exciting Holiday that I´ve ever been, was in the last summer, in December of 2021. Me and my boyfriend went to a place call Pichilemu, wich it´s a beach with a multiple beautiful views and the most excityng activities to do with the person you love and with the intention of having fun and having a good time. We stayed for 3 days in a beautiful and cozy cabin, that it was quite close to the beach, so getting around was not complicated. The idea of being able to relax for a few days was on our minds, and I think Pichilemu was the perfect place to achieve that goal.  Because when we had time to do something different, like eating some of the best food that Pichilemu has to offer, we were surprised by the variety of the food; pizzas, waffles, hot dogs, pancakes, multi-flavored ice creams, and many other things. Not to mention how beautiful the beach is and how much space you have to enjoy it. Like one of the normal acivities to do when you go to...

It´s part of the plans that i have in my mined to go there and have a really good time studying there the carrer that i want to start, an at the same time it´s part of my biggest dreams to become an a f orensic anthropologist and have the oportunity to study in this place the carrer that i want, make me feel really happy.
